P.S. - Here are a few of the comments I've gotten from folks about my music:
"What a terrific record! Ordinarily, I wouldn't suggest starting a studio album with a live track, but it's perfect. And what a sneaky lead-in to "Don't Be Cruel," which you deliver in such a sly manner... slipping in all the emotion in your rather sleepy delivery. Speaking of covers, not just anybody would choose "Sabu" from the John Prine song book. Another nice surprise. I don't like to "play favorites," pardon the pun. I have one, nonetheless. "Satellite." What a grand flight of emotional imagination. Thanks for sending in the CD. It will be on the air starting Monday." -Marilyn Beyer, WUMB
"My wife and I love receiving the WilberNews and yet even more have loved your latest album which I purchased from your site a month or so ago. We both agree that our favorite song is Silver Linings. It is one of those songs that you wish would go on and on...Keep the great music coming." -Dave and Gretchen Anderson Bakersfield, CA
"Hey Jason! I got the cd this week and I think its great! I do enjoy your version of 'Killing the Blues' but I also like 'In Her Veins'. Its so poetic and I like that! So thanks, and keep it up!" - Ben Chambers
"Just wanted to reiterate my appreciation for the one-man solo gig you put on in Jasper last Friday. I bought Behind the Midway and was blown away, man. I especially like Lay Down When You’re Done, Indian Summer, It’s Not Saturday, Dirty Old Town (kind of a creepy thing), The Galway Waltz, “…Amazing Grace….” and the true standout to me is the “I wonder why he hasn’t made a million off this song” Your Only One. That is a great big beautiful song, a precious little thing like your Lazy Afternoon one (which I need to get my hands on). Great work. What really stands out is the literary quality to the lyrics." - Scott Saalman
“Received your CDs in the mail on Monday. Thanks for the quick turn around time. Both are really GREAT. Tim Grimm’s is awesome also, I will be picking up his other one too. Great job on the studio work. Thanks again.” - Jason Burkholder
"King For A Day is an interesting collection of songs which covers a variety of styles. There's the irresistible title track (who wouldn't want to be Elvis for a day?), the cheeky talking blues of "Talk About 69", the more conventional blues of Satellite, and some effective covers. (Can there ever be a bad version of Rolly Salley's Killing The Blues?) For me, though, the highlight of this too-brief album is the ballad "In Her Veins". Embellished by some evocative guitar, this tells the story of a mesmeric female singer - well written, well sung, and atmospheric. It sounds better every time I hear it (as does the whole album)." - Arthur Elliott. "Sidestream" Radio 99.7FM Brisbane, Australia.
